You describe in this article the income tax increases in New Jersey and New York as "temporary". Tax increases are often passed with such language, but people should be reminded that they only qualify as temporary when they actually expire. The list of "temporary" taxes that we are still paying goes back as far as the Spanish-American war. The list of temporary taxes (no quotes required) is far shorter. Peter S.
